These are Hunza Apples, locally known as Shinee Balt ( Summer Apple).These are ripe in the month of June, famous for its taste in Hunza Valley also in other parts of Gilgit-Baltistan. Hunza people also dry these apples and store them in their stores for spring season for making juice locally known as BEENG. Powder form is known as BEENG and its Juice is BASTAW. In old times Hunza people drunk BASTAW when they were tired after doing farm work in their fields.
How to Prepare BASTAW:
Put two spoon BEENG in one glass of cold water and mix it well.
